True Blood Review
Those who've read the books knew all about this fairy-business already, which probably made the fact that they dragged out this revelation all the more frustrating. Now the secret they're teasing us with is "why can't Sookie trust Bill?" Will this be the mystery that winds up tearing them apart leading into True Blood Season 4? And how about Sookie's making out with Eric? I know she's enraptured by his blood, but that was a full-on snog session! That was no "fine, I'll kiss you" concession. It just didn't feel right and I felt like I was watching fanfic (which a lot of true blood dvd feels like anyway).

true blood dvd box set was a good episode with a few surprising scenes, but it didn't help open up the series the way I was hoping. After Russell's freakin' murderous nightly news broadcast, I was yearning for more of a spotlight on the national, or even global, ramifications of his actions. All we wound up getting though were news reports telling us that bad things were happening "out there." It just made the show feel insular and isolated when the playing field should have opened up considerably. It kind of smacked of budgetary restrictions.
